Digital Vacuum Gauges with Alarm System

The Most Advanced in the Industry

Not only does our vacuum gauge provide you with a highly accurate digital Liquid Crystal Display of vacuum level in your milking system, it also has a built in alarm system.

The alarm system will alert you when the vacuum level in your barn deviates more then a 1/2 inch of mercury from the desired level. When the vacuum is too low or too high a small LED light will indicate so immediately. If the deviation persists for more then 20 seconds an audible pulsating alarm (beeper) will sound. The 20 second delay prevents the alarm from sounding prematurely when a claw falls off a cow or is being handled by the milker.

In addition a standard outlet plug is provided for a remote alarm light. The output is capable of driving a 100 watt light. When an alarm condition exists, the remote light will flash in unison with the audible alarm.

On the front panel are the controls to set the trip level of the alarm. A sliding switch is used to display either the vacuum level or the alarm set point. Once in the "set point" position, the desired milking vacuum level may be set with a small screw driver.

For example if 13-1/2 inches of mercury is selected as the desired milking vacuum level, the alarm system will activate at a 1/2 inch lower or a 1/2 inch higher. Trip levels are therefore set at below 13 or above 14 inches of mercury. After adjusting the set point the switch may be returned to display the vacuum level.

The alarm system will shut itself off when the vacuum level is too low to milk cows. This is done to prevent the alarm from operating when the milking is finished and the vacuum pump is turned off.

Remote Alarm Light

A water tight light fixture is available from PBI Ross-Holm for remote indication of an alarm condition. It may be located in the milking barn for the milker to see if the vacuum level is incorrect. A 25 watt red light bulb is included with the fixture.

An Eye to the Future

An analog proportional deviation output is already available on the board to connect a future vacuum controller to finish the system. We will keep you updated when a controller becomes available.

Digital Vacuum Gauges

PBI Ross-Holm is pleased to announce a highly accurate digital vacuum gauge with an easy to read liquid crystal display.

Finally a practical replacement for that hard to read mercury gauge.

Designed to read the vacuum level in your barn within 1% accuracy it is temperature compensated and also adjusts for different altitudes.

Vacuum is displayed in inches of mercury as is common in the USA. Foreign models reading in millimeters of mercury are available on special request.

The gauge connects to the vacuum line with 1/8-inch ID urethane tubing and a plastic 1/8 inch pipe thread fitting . It operates on 12-volt DC power. A power adapter for a standard 115-volt outlet is included.

The plastic enclosure (only 2-1/2 inches high by 4-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/4 inch deep) and epoxy encapsulated electronic components provide longevity and reliability in the harsh dairy barn environment.

NOTE: In addition to this fine gauge, PBI Ross-Holm also offers a Digital Vacuum Gauge with an alarm system. The audible beeper or optional red alarm light will alert you when the vacuum level in your barn is out of the proper range for milking. An excellent tool to keep mastitis under control.
