Hose Support Arms - Features and Advantages

Solid Weld On (Standard) Or Clamp On Bracket For Secure Mounting
A 1/4 inch thick zinc plated bracket (stainless optional) is included with each hose support and may be welded directly to a stall rail. An optional clamp on bracket is also available, using a 5/16 inch U bolt.

Two Friction Adjustments For Horizontal And Vertical Movement
This feature is important if the up and down friction is adjusted tight enough to support the hose yet you would like to set the side to side friction so it is easy to rotate the arm towards or away from the cow. Swinging the arm between two cows in a flat barn is also made more convenient.

Rigidly Mounted Arm
The Arm is held firmly so the hook on the end always remains in a vertical position. The hose is less likely to slip or move after it has been set by the milker.

All Stainless Steel Hardware
All the Bolts, Nuts and even the Roll Pin to hold the Arm on are Stainless Steel to prevent corrosion and make disassembly easy at a later date.

Parallel Hose Arm Support

The PBI Ross-Holm hose support arm was designed specifically with the large commercial dairies in mind. Since a number of newer dairies are using parallel stalls, PBI Ross-Holm felt there was a need for a new hose support. Rather then trying to adapt standard herringbone arms or support the hose somehow from the curb an arm specifically designed for the parallel stall is desirable. Using the main components from our popular standard hose support, PBI Ross-Holm developed a new support that has proved to work very well in the parallel stalls.

The arm is mounted vertically from the bottom stall rail. The first friction pivot allows the milker to move the arm completely out of the way by swinging it either to the left or the right, up towards the rail. The second friction pivot permits adjustment away from or towards the cow. This movement can provide forward pull on the cow's udder for better milk out. The friction of the two pivots is individually adjustable, making it possible to set the movement to the storage position with less friction then the movement to and from the cow. The arm itself is made with two hooks to allow supporting the hose at different heights for high or low uddered cows. When installing the support arm, PBI Ross-Holm recommends locating the unit 4 to 6 inches right or left from the center of the cow to keep it out of the way of the milker.
